What happens after you go solar?

Frequently asked questions
How much roof area does a solar system need?
Roughly 70 sq. ft. of shadow-free roof for every 1 kW. A 3 kW home system needs about 210 sq. ft.
Will my electricity bill become zero?
It can fall by a large share, but rarely to exactly zero. Fixed charges and taxes stay on the bill, and the saving depends on your usage, system size and net-metering approval.
How long does installation take?
Installation usually takes 2 to 5 days once approvals are done and the material is on site. Approvals from the electricity company can take longer.
How long does a solar system last?
Panels are typically warrantied for 25 years or more with a gradual drop in output. Inverters usually need replacing after 8 to 12 years.
Is a government subsidy available?
Central subsidy under PM Surya Ghar applies to residential rooftop systems installed through a registered vendor. It is paid after commissioning and is capped at 3 kW. Homes, housing societies and businesses are treated differently, so ask us about your case.
